A recognized veteran in digital and Internet policy at international level, Kathryn C. Brown has led key initiatives that were instrumental to the Internet’s global expansion. Her career spans the public and private sector as well as civil society: she served as President and CEO of the Internet Society; Senior Vice President, Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility at Verizon; partner at the Washington D.C. law firm Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering; Head of the Office of Policy and Development at the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) and Chief of Staff at Federal Communications Commission (FCC). A native of New York, Ms. Brown received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Marist College. She has served on the advisory boards of the Public Interest Registry (.ORG), the mPowering Development Initiative of the ITU, and the USC Annenberg Innovation Lab.
