Erika Mann is a globally recognized expert in transatlantic relations and international Internet policy. She is the Founding Chair of the European Internet Forum, the leading European platform where key digital policy stakeholders exchange on the Internet and its impact on Europe’s economy, society and governance. Erika served as an MEP from 1994 to 2009, where she led the work of the European Parliament on trade and WTO policy, transatlantic relations, digital economy, telecommunications & Internet policy, as well as being the rapporteur for the E-Commerce Directive. After leaving public office, Erika was the Executive VP of the Computer & Communications Industry Association from 2009 until 2011. She then led Facebook's Brussels office from 2011 until 2015. She is a lecturer and author of many publications on trade, transatlantic relations and Internet-world related topics, and has received many awards, including the European-American Business Council for Exceptional Transatlantic Commitment, and the German Federal Cross of Merit. She currently is a senior European policy advisor at Covington, while serving on the GNSO Council of ICANN.
